Aldi will open seven new stores across the UK in November, creating up to 210 jobs as the supermarket continues to expand its estate.
The discount supermarket’s openings include two new London stores, in Stepney Green and Willesden, with up to 30 jobs available at each location.
The new stores form part of Aldi’s £370m investment in its UK estate this year. The retailer has a long-term ambition to operate 1,500 stores nationwide.
Aldi UK managing director of national real estate Jonathan Neale said: “Demand for new Aldi stores remains strong, and we want more shoppers to be able to enjoy our high-quality products at low prices.
“Opening seven stores in November is another big step in our growth plans. It will create hundreds of local jobs and bring Aldi’s value to thousands more shoppers across the country.”
The stores are due to open in Basildon, Essex, on 12 November; Newport on the Isle of Wight and Matlock, Derbyshire, on 19 November; and Stepney Green, London, Willesden, London, Orrell in Wigan, and Waterlooville, Hampshire, on 26 November.
The expansion follows Aldi’s recent trading update, in which it outlined further investment in stores, continued price cuts and plans for more long-term agreements with British suppliers.
